Art is everywhere and in everything. It is the flower in a garden, the rust on a pole, the fur of a beaver, the feathers of a hawk. Art is in the caw of the crow, the laugh of a child, the tweet of the finch. Art is in the birthing of a calf and the dying of the day’s light.

The artist attempts to capture the world as she sees, hears, and feels it. And just as every moment differs, artist creations differ, even when using the same subject. This is the universality of art, individual impressions of the world we inhabit.

As an artist, my goal is to paint the world as I interpret it, whether that be a realistic portrayal or an abstract that captures the sensations I feel. You may not see what I see or feel what I feel, because you have a different perspective. If I am lucky, what you see will move you and evoke your own feelings. And that is art.
